The Brazilian Army's new light anti-tank weapon Arma Leve Anti-Carro (ALAC) is to be exported to four countries, according to 14 October Brazilian media reports. These countries have so far been identified as one in Africa, one in Asia, and two in the Middle East.
COMMENT
ALAC is a shoulder-fired 84-mm anti-tank weapon with an effective range of 300 m and a maximum range of 500 m. An initial production batch of 180 is being delivered to the Brazilian Army.
The weapon was developed by the Brazilian Army's Technology Centre, the army-run IMBEL weapons factory, and Brazilian aerospace company GESPI Aeronáutica.
